Dressing in red and white holiday colors has positive, psychological benefits for those holiday blues. Why not skip the holiday blues this season, and jump into your favorite holiday outfits by adding exciting reds and snowy whites to feel the true spirit of Christmas again?
Red is known as the color of warmth, love, and comfort. It brings back the feelings we have experienced from eating grandma’s warm cherry pie, giving Valentine cards to sweethearts, and the excitement of wearing that special party dress! Wearing red also has many positive, psychological aspects. You may experience feeling passionate, excited, confident, energetic, and/or spontaneous. Who doesn’t want to start their day off with this type of JOY TO THE WORLD?
White is known as the color of perfection. The thought that comes to mind is the first snowfall where everything around you is a blank, sparkly canvas of freshness! Can you picture that simplicity and goodness? White’s psychological meaning is purity, innocence, wholeness, and completion, giving a sense of peace and comfort. Best of all, white cleanses your mind, your thoughts, and your emotions. It refreshes your spirit, which we all desperately need in the holiday hustle and bustle of deciding what to wear!
Finally, the fun part we are all waiting for - comfy outfit ideas on how to wear these wonderful colors together and get rid those holiday blues.
Keep in mind that not all red and white colors are universal because of personal experiences and cultures. I have always loved these two colors together all year round for Valentine’s Day, the 4th of July, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. I love seeing the smiles on people’s faces because of how I feel on the inside by wearing these colors. Have fun and get energized wearing those exciting reds and sparkling whites to TIS THE SEASON.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
