Spring is just around the corner which means blooming flowers, chirping birds, and... music festivals! Specifically, Coachella, popular for not only its insane music lineups but its fashion as well. I will be attending Coachella for the first time in April and I am so ecstatic! I’ve always loved seeing pictures of Coachella fashion, and finally being a part of it is unreal. My friends and I have been doing our homework and pinning any eye-catching looks on Pinterest to prepare for this experience of a lifetime. Here are a couple of my favorite OOTDs.

THE BOHEMIAN PRINCESS The bohemian look is perfect for a festival in the desert. I’ve been loving anything that is lacy, sheer, and/or flowy. You’re in the desert! These fabrics will keep you cool. I’m also all about a color palette of earthy and nude tones. And then tie it all together with plenty of accessories! Darly is wearing a short, flowy dress from Free People, layering a choker and a necklace. I am wearing a plunging bodysuit with a lace maxi skirt from Forever21, topped with a statement necklace.

THE LADIES IN WHITE How does one stand out in a crowd of 70,000+? The answer is to wear all white! I love how white can appear so bright when worn from head to toe. Celena is wearing a bralette from Ragstock, shorts from Pac Sun, and a lace coverup from Forever21. Lellian is wearing fringe shorts from Topshop, a crop top from Urban Outfitters, and a lace coverup that was actually created by Darly! All the shoes worn in images are for shoot purposes only. You’re going to be on your feet all day whether you’re walking or dancing, so you’ll want to be comfortable! Opt for some cute sandals, cute sneakers, or comfy booties instead!

Don’t forget about the hair and make-up! It’s personally my favorite part and sets the festival outfits apart from looking like a normal outfit. You can never do too much when it comes to festival make-up, so get creative! Play around with different colored glitter, flakes, and jewels! They’re so pretty and are like accessories for your face! I purchased these from Amazon.

Coachella is all about expressing yourself without judgement, so wear what makes you feel confident and festival-ready! Just make sure you think about your attire/makeup twice before you might offend someone. Stay away from Native American headdresses as well as bindis. I know they’re beautiful but they should only be worn for their cultural reasons, not a music festival. Aside from that, have fun with styling your festival outfits! Grab your best girlfriends, sunscreen, a water bottle and go out there and SLAY!! XoXo, ~Sophia
