TREND ALERT: Monochromatic

If wearing a variety of color at once scares you, don’t worry, the monochromatic theme is back and better than ever before. Try rocking one bold color from head-to-toe, creating an effortlessly chic ensemble guaranteed to earn you compliments everywhere you go.  I personally, love this trend and highly encourage everyone (men and women) to give this trend a try. Feel free to break-up the “all one color” style by intermixing a different shade of the same color, helping had depth and a little diversity to the look.

I am a blush kind of girl, and rocking a head-to-toe look in blush and gold is certain to win my heart! Check out more of my daily outfits by following me on Instagram @msmeghanlee

The monochromatic trend was very hot on the runway sporting a lot of bold colors such as the Versace collection making a rainbow of monochromatic looks grace the runway. A festive yellow ensemble was seen in Tibi's spring collection. Notice how they blended a mustard top with a bold yellow pair of pants, staying true to the monochromatic look while adding an depth and dimension with the variety of shades. For a sexy look, you can never go wrong with a fiery red combination such as the Brandon Maxwell look. The deep v-neck breaks up the solid color, adding a little extra sex-appeal to the already hot color. With ice cream pastels being another major trend this season, what better way to rock two trends at once than creating a pastel monochromatic look. Get inspired by the mint green combination from Gucci's spring collection, playing perfectly with the spring season and reflecting the sunny weather! Add layers and dynamic to a neutral monochromatic theme, by ensuring your pieces are worn and torn similar to MAX MARA's spring collection. For a unique take on the monochromatic trend, find pieces that have patterns while staying in the same color family. Adding patterns and textures creates an extra artistic flare ideal for any trendsetter!

Since I love my fellow fashionistas so much I have put together a couple of monochromatic looks using on-trend pieces from a variety of our partners, helping curate a fabulous closet, while supporting my friends and providing you some inspiration. Happy Styling!

Add some spring to your closet with a grassy green ensemble. This look is perfect for your next date night or a girls night out on the town! Mix casual with elevated, creating a very trendy look, perfect for all of the fashionista's in the world. Slide on the green baseball graphic tee ($10.90, Forever 21) and pair the laid back tee with the vintage inspired circle skirt ($2499, From Anny) adding a feminine touch a classic tee. Immediately elevate the look with the satin green sandals ($29.90, Forever 21). Accessorize with the preppy chic bangles ($9.99, From Anny) and notice the green punches of color throughout the bracelet set, matching perfectly with the skirt and shirt. Complete the look, by carrying only your essentials in the faux leather green cross-body ($9.90, Forever 21) keeping you hands free no matter the occasion, while also tying the entire look together.

Play up your romantic side with a baby blue color staying true to the ice-cream pastels while also creating a flirty fresh monochromatic look just for you!  With statement sleeves still holding strong, add a bit of flare to your shirt collection with the baby blue ruffle sleeve blouse ($27.50, From Anny) and tuck the blouse into the high waist flare jeans ($48.00, Forever 21). Add instant elevation and get ahead of the trends with the matching pastel faux patent leather sliders ($22.90, Forever 21) adding a sophisticated touch to a very trendy ensemble. If the blouse is a little too sheer, layer it over the matching baby blue floral bralette, adding a subtle bohemian flare. Complete the look with festively chic pouch ($25.00, WAY the Label), adding texture and depth the look.
